ABOUT BHONSALA INSTITUTE
Our ‘Founder’ Late Dharmaveer Dr. Balkrishna Shivram Moonje was a well-known thinker and visionary. In the pre-independence era itself, he realized the importance of Indianisation of the Armed Forces and hence the necessity of providing military training to Indian youth.
He thus established the Central Hindu Military Education Society (CHMES) at Nasik in 1935. The foundation of one of its first institute Bhonsala Military School, Nasik was laid in 1937 and Bhonsala Military School Nagpur, in the year 1996. Till date 600+ ex-students of Bhonsala Military School have served and are still serving the Indian Armed Forces.
Bhonsala Military School Nagpur, established in June 1996, is currently spread over 30 acres of lush green land at ‘Panchwati’ near Village Chakki Khapa Koradi Nagpur. Within a short period, the school metamorphosed into a premier institute. At present it is one of the largest fully residential schools in Central India with state-of-the-art training facility and equipotent training faculty. Besides achieving many milestones in academics, the school has excelled in co-curricular, extra-curricular and adventure activities. Bhonsala Military School, Nagpur has been given permission to start a new Sainik School by Sainik School Society, under the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi. This new Sainik School has started functioning from the academic session 2024-25 and is nomenclated as Bhonsala Sainik School (CBSE).
